Kolbeach Stud kicks off
their
(almost) Spring Show campaign
With the first hint of sun for what seems like
months and with Adelaide Royal show looming it was
time to dust off the plaiting needles and make the
5hr trek to the first of the ‘local’ agricultural
shows for the season. The Crystal Brook show society
continues to produce a popular and well supported
show in an era when many communities are struggling
to even hold a show. Kolbeach was well represented
with Canberra Champion pony Kolbeach Be Free
(13.2-14 winner) taking first honors. Be Free is
produced by the stud. Kolbeach Symphony (13-13.2
winner) was awarded Res. Champion Large Pony for
Charlie and Andrew Hunt. Also in the Champion line
up was 12.2-13 winner Kolbeach Peter Pan for Stacey
Faerhmann.
Across the bunting and Kolbeach made its mark in the
Galloway ring with Water Lily (by Fernleigh Fine
Print) taking out champion galloway for Margot
Haynes with the quality Kolbeach Limelight Reserve.
Limelight is owned by Jo Stewart and Rafferty Rugs.
Heavyweight Galloway winner was good moving Kolbeach
Marine for young Elise Williams.
The second Galloway ring saw the new celebrity of
the Kolbeach show team make her debut to the eastern
side of Spencer Gulf. It may have taken a few years
but the famous Galloway Covers eventually added to
her brood with one that Kolbeach are happy to have
waited for. Kolbeach Designer, a brown mare by
Fernleigh Fine Print has been blessed with the
wonderful way of going her mother exhibited and the
quality and temperament her father stamps his
progeny with. K. Designer was awarded Champion
Galloway.
Kolbeach Be Free was awarded Supreme Horse of the
show.
Kolbeach stud would like to wish the owners and
producers of Kolbeach ponies the very best of luck
at the upcoming Royal and Horse of the year shows.
Kolbeach at the
Ekka 09
The Spring show season has kicked off with great
success for Kolbeach ponies with outstanding results
achieved at the Ekka. First to be awarded a blue
ribbon was Louise Barton’s delightful Kolbeach
Chanting in the Novice Pony 13.2-14 hands. Chanting
also won the Ridden Riding Pony 13.2-14.2.
When it was time for the Galloways to perform
Kolbeach Stud was again prominent. The beautiful
Kolbeach Dior shown by the experienced Corvi, Cowan
and Beggs team headed the Novice 14.2-15h class with
the brilliant moving Kolbeach Canasta winning the
Open Lightweight Show Hunter Galloway class and
going one step further by taking out the Champion
Show Hunter Galloway for the Millington, Leckey and
Kenzig team. Kolbeach Vogue gained a ticket to the
Champion Galloway class by winning the Gentleman’s
Galloway class for the Madigan family. Also well
worth a mention was the success of a shinning
Kolbeach youngster being that of Kolbeach Venetian.
Despite her obvious youth Venetian was 3rd
in her Novice large Galloway class and 5th
in her open class, with quality, presence and
attitude; we look forward to following the progress
of Venetian as a promising star of the showring for
the Harper-Purcell family.
Kolbeach was also pleased to hear and report on of
the success of Kolbeach ponies with their young
riders in pony, riding and turnout classes.
Including K. Classic, K. Vogue, K. Surprise, K.
Royal Secrets, K. Flight, K. Finest & Holly’s
Signet.
