National Horse of the Year Show

The darling of Kolbeach stud 'Kolbeach Bouquet' performed a treat at the recent National Horse of the Year show held in Melbourne, at only 4 years of age this petite little mare has done exceptionally well under saddle.

To think that only last season she made her debut under saddle and here she was under the bright lights at such a prestige event to win the runner-up Small Pony of the Year.

Ridden again by her young jockey Ashley Anderson, showing the quality of breeding to type and manners can be easily combined. Bouquet was also this years Melbourne and Adelaide Royals small Champion pony ridden exhibit.

Sired by the studs resident stallion Camargue Tribute Imp out of the beautiful imported mare Talcharne Wedding Chorus, she stands at 12.2 hands.

Night of Stars Auction

Kolbeach Classsique Kolbeach Finest

Kolbeach Stillito

Kolbeach Vogue

For the first time at the Nationals a auction of quality ponies presented by Kolbeach was made available for sale. Carefully selected for type and as future saddle stars the 4 youngsters handled the indoor atmosphere of Werribee Park like  seasoned pro's in the capable hands of  Robert Cockram who flew out from England for the big night.

The auction started with my personal favourite Kolbeach Classsique, a touch of chrome and elegant, she sold for *$8,500.00, next up was Kolbeach Finest her breeding alone made her much sort-after with bidding reaching  *$16,000 - she was retained with the stud seeking a little more for this impressive filly, next for those looking for a Galloway was Kolbeach Vogue - Covers grand daughter, bidding was brisk and to the point with her selling at *$12,000 and finally Kolbeach Stillito black and beautiful she had many admirers and once again in no time bidding had peaked at *$12,000 with her going on to a new home.

The idea of holding a auction midway was a win, win for the organisers with Kolbeach donating 10% of the sale total back to the Nationals, this on top of their already generous sponsorship they donate every year to this event. For those interested in purchasing a Kolbeach pony please refer to their sale pages as they have some wonderful ponies available now for sale.

*prices as per what I could hear from the back of the complex - I shall list the new owners as soon as those details come to hand.
