Some outstanding results were achieved with stock by resident stallion at Kolbeach Stud, Fernleigh Fine Print over the five days of top class showing at Werribee in January. We currently have yearlings available for sale, please contact stud direct for more details..... Onto the wrap up of some of Kolbeach finest competition here in Victoria for the 2007 season.
At VASA, Marcia Beards 4 year old KOLBEACH CIRCUS (by Syon Splendour out of Waverley Festivity) pictured opposite, was Reserve Champion in both the Rising Star Galloway class and the First Season Galloway. CIRCUS is full brother to the very successful ridden pony, KOLBEACH CARNIVAL. On to the Summer Royal, CIRCUS was awarded Champion Led Gelding in the Open Breeds Section, also gaining Reserve Champion in the same Ridden classification. CIRCUS was purchased on the 2003 Kolbeach Select Sale, at the same time as K PROMISE |
Graham
and Sue Elliott’s 4-year-old Fine Print daughter, KOLBEACH PROMISE
continued her winning run at VASA. Ridden as usual by Linda Hayes,
PROMISE was; Champion 1st Season Large Pony, Rising Star Large Pony
Champion, and Reserve Champion Open Large Pony.
Melbourne Royal recorded exceptional
entries for the Riding Pony Breeding section, and we were delighted
with the achievements of the following Fernleigh Fine Print
offspring.
Making her show ring debut was
KOLBEACH VENETIAN, (F. Fine Print / Chevalae) top priced pony at the
National Horse Of The Year Show Sale on the same showground in
December. VENETIAN was produced by Robert Cockram for her new
owners, Camgo Ltd, to win 1st Riding Pony Yearling not to exceed
14.2hh, and then went on to stand Reserve Overall Champion Filly.
Robert also produced our own KOLBEACH FLIGHT, (F. Fine Print / Necta
Night Surprise). Again appearing in the ring for the first time,
FLIGHT won a good yearling class not to exceed 13.2hh at maturity,
and then took the Reserve Overall Colt Championship.
Lynn Warburton’s Fine Print daughter,
KOLBEACH CLASS (out of Fleetcroft Royal Whisper), seems to love this
showground having been Champion here in 2006; CLASS won the 2 year
old not to exceed 14.2hh at maturity, and the re-appeared in the
Australian Saddle Pony Ring, to win 1st and Champion in that
section.
Another great win for Fine Print, was
Terry and Pauline Van Heythuysen’s KOLBEACH VOGUE, purchased on the
2004 National Horse Of The Year Show Sale, VOGUE won a strong
3-year-old filly class not to exceed 14.2hh at maturity. VOGUE is
already broken and looks to have a great future under saddle.
