QLD RPOTY 2009

Queensland sees some new young stars make their mark over the ANZAC weekend including Supreme Champion Ridden Riding Pony at the QLD RPOTY.

The gorgeous Kolbeach Chanting (Wembley Champion Oldcourt Balalika x Fernleigh Fine Print) took out the Supreme Champion Ridden Riding Pony at the 2009 Queensland Riding Pony of the Year Show. Chanting was bought as a yearling by Louise Barton from Kolbeach stud. Following a short but successful in hand career as a youngster, which included winning at the Melbourne Summer Show, she has just commenced her ridden campaign under the guidance of the young consummate professional Sabrina Durantee. Owner Louise Barton produces Chanting to perfection. Chanting earned her ticket to the Supreme class by winning the Champion Children’s ridden riding pony. Successful breeders and riding pony producers Susie Stewart of Mandaley Stud and Peter Barry of Mirinda Stud both of Victoria were responsible for the Supreme decision.

Less than 24hrs earlier, Kolbeach Venetian ridden by Kirsty Harper-Purcell made an exciting debut to the show ring under saddle by winning the Champion Newcomer Galloway class at the Equestrian Queensland Show Horse Anzac Day Show. Venetian is out of a Thoroughbred Semipalastink mare by Fernleigh Fine Print and was purchased as a yearling from the EFA Nationals Auction.

Kolbeach are confident that they will hear of a lot more success for these young ponies in the future.
