Kolbeach Bells and Holly’s Tribute took top honors for
their new owners at the 2009 Victorian Riding Pony of
the Year and Youngstock Show.
On a day that will be remembered for the horrific fires
and unprecedented loss of life and property it was with
great sadness that several of the riding pony fraternity
suffered the terrible lost of friends and family along
with property and ponies. Our thoughts are with those
who were deeply affected by the Victorian bushfires.
For those who endured Victoria’s hottest day on record
at Werribee Park for the VRPOTY and Youngstock show
witnessed the success of two outstanding yearlings that
have only just begun to make their mark in the show
ring. Bells was sashed Champion Youngstock filly and
Holly’s Tribute was awarded the Champion Youngstock
Gelding in Hand
K.Bells was purchased by Nirelle and Scott Sommerville
after seeing her at the Melbourne Summer Show, Holly’s
Tribute was purchased as a gelding following the summer
show by Lucinda Frazier. Both ponies are headed for
saddle careers and Kolbeach look forward to great
success for these ponies and their new owners.
Kolbeach Kiss prepared and shown by David Quayle and
Sally Watkins looked a treat and was the winner of her
2yr old filly class. Kiss has been retained by the stud
to continue the Royal Show Champion Helden Park Calender
Girl line of breeding. Kolbeach are delighted with her
performance for David and Sally and are confident that
she will follow in her mothers’ footsteps as a
successful saddle pony. With an envious presence,
attitude and ability to sit up and travel Kolbeach look
forward to watching her progress under saddle.
Kolbeach Class looked and performed a treat despite the
extreme conditions to be awarded the ‘Grand’ Champion
Ridden Newcomer Pony and Reserve Champion in the
‘Beckworth’ Riding Pony of the Year in a quality field
for owner Lyn Warburton. |
