Well known and successful Victorian pony competitor and
Riding Pony breeder was in charge of the pony judging at
this year’s Royal Easter Show. Whilst class numbers were
not huge, success at any royal show is a difficult task
and Kolbeach are thrilled to hear the success of both
the young and the continuing success of more seasoned
Kolbeach progeny.
On
the first day of Hack and Ponies the ever so cute
Kolbeach Garland was second in the 12-12.2 novice to the
eventual 2009 Champion Novice Pony. K. Garland was 4th
in a tough open class.
Bring on the Open Ponies and success for Kolbeach was
achieved once again. Kolbeach Carnival owned by Rosemary
and Katrina Metherall of Victoria added another win to
his ever growing list of high achievements. ‘Clem’ is
renowned for his beautiful nature; out of showing
superstar Waverley Festivity by Imported sire Syon
Splendor was declared the winner of the 13.2-14 class.
Kaycee Wallen’ss new pony to her stable Kolbeach Classic
was also placed in the large pony class. Formally owned
by Brooke Higgins of Queensland, with whom he achieved
great success including Brisbane Show and QLD HOTY
victories is a true show pony and again possesses an
implausible nature.
Fresh from her Canberra victory, Kolbeach Class owned by
Victorian Lyn Warburton certainly held her own by being
placed a very credible 2nd to the highly
successful seasoned Mirinda Touch of Mink. At just 4yrs
of age Class out of Fleetcroft Royal Whisper by
Fernleigh Fine Print she is certainly making her mark
on the showring. With a presence that makes her a real
‘show pony’ Lyn’s success with Class is only just
beginning.
Whilst KB Covers out of the superstar Galloway ‘Covers’
may not of repeated his 2008 victory at Sydney he
certainly did not disappoint being placed in a strong
12.2-13 for Andrew and Charlie Hunt of Argyl Stud of
South Australia.
Champion Large pony saw two Kolbeach ponies represent
the stud. K. Carnival as winner of the 13.2-14h and
after Mirinda Touch of Mink was declared Champion Large
pony, in stepped Kolbeach Class to put on a performance
well beyond her years and was subsequently awarded
Reserve Champion large pony at the 2009 Royal Easter
show.
Another highlight for Kolbeach stud was the Champion
ridden Riding Pony stallion being awarded to Kolbeach
Royalist (Ardenhall Royal Secret x Camague Tribute).
Royalist is owned by Andrew and Charlie of Argyl Stud in
South Australia and standing him at public stud. His
success was not confined to the riding pony section when
on the final day of the show he successfully competed
and took out the Best Ridden Pony stallion of the 2009
Royal Easter Show. A magnificent achievement for a young
and very lightly shown pony. |
